How much will conveyancing for my equity release cost?

Our fixed fees for equity release would be £1250.00 plus VAT (20%). Our fixed fees for equity release that requires transfer of equity would be £1500.00 plus VAT (20%).

Additional costs if and when required

Occasionally we may be required to obtain a title plan of the property from HMLR on your behalf. If we are required to do so, there will be a disbursement charged to you of £3.00 + VAT.

We have several regulatory requirements to verify the identity of our clients and perform due diligence checks which are designed to help prevent fraud and money laundering. We have put in place significant anti-fraud checks to protect our clients, and these are charged at £24 (inclusive of VAT) per person. These checks may need to be undertaken more than once during the legal work.

Should you wish for the Equity Release funds to be paid to you by CHAPS there is a £30.00 (plus VAT) charge per transaction.

Getting Advice

If you are thinking about an Equity Release plan, we would suggest that you contact an Independent Financial Advisor and talk to them about this in more detail. All Advisors dealing with Equity Release Schemes must have a specialist qualification. Here at Brethertons, we are proud members of the Equity Release Council and operate exclusively under their principles.

Once you have decided to proceed with your Equity Release, you will then need to instruct your Solicitor. It is probably wise to instruct a Solicitor who is local to you as your Solicitor will need to meet with you face to face during the transaction. They will need to advise you on all of the documentation which you are entering into, obtaining your signature to the Mortgage Deed and providing a Solicitors Certificate to the Equity Release provider.
