Brethertons backs best of business

  • Posted

We are delighted to announce that we're sponsoring the Business Person of the Year category at the 2016 West Oxfordshire Business Awards for a second year.

The West Oxfordshire Business Awards (fondly known as The WOBAs) celebrates the best of business in the region and was established in 2011 to recognise the high-achieving organisations in the West Oxfordshire district. Awards are made to businesses of all sizes and include special honours for Charity of the Year, Employer of the Year, and New Business of the Year.

The Business Person of the Year award is open to individuals who have worked in a business for a minimum of five years, usually business owners and/or directors, who have brought significant benefits to their organisation through their efforts. As judges of the award category, we will be assessing entries to find examples of successfully implemented strategic business plans which have brought growth and improved profitability to the organisation, as well as those who have taken active steps in exceeding customer expectations and raising the organisation’s profile.

As an additional incentive to enter, winners of a WOBA will automatically be shortlisted for the corresponding award at the prestigious county-wide Oxfordshire Business Awards later in the summer. The WOBAs will be officially launched at a special launch event on Friday 25 September, which will be held at Eynsham Hall near Witney and tickets are available by contacting one of the WOBA team.

Brethertons’ CEO Shaun Jardine explains why business people should enter or nominate a colleague for this award, “We’ve been fortunate to have won a number of business awards in recent years and our staff and clients value the recognition and profile that comes with being a finalist. The WOBAs recognise the very best companies in West Oxfordshire - the recognition from the local business community and the publicity opportunities that are created are extremely valuable. The investment of an hour or two completing an application is well worth it.”

The awards open for nominations on Friday 25 September and entries close on Monday 30 November 2015. Finalists will be announced at a special event in February and the winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner on Friday 18 March. To make your nomination, visit www.woba.org.uk for more details.
