Since being at Brethertons I have been assisting with different aspects of Child Law both public and private, including: care proceedings, pre-proceedings, injunctive work such as non-molestation orders, cases regarding the international movement of children and contact cases. I work primarily assisting Kim Lehal, Joanne Soar and Sarah Morris with their files.
As part of my role I regularly attend Court to attend Counsel and support clients through what are the most difficult of proceedings where decisions concerning their children are made. Since beginning my legal career I have had a keen interest in supporting clients through the Court process, during my degree I volunteered with an organisation who offer support to Litigants in Person and I did pro-bono work representing clients in Social Security Appeal Tribunals. I recognise that Court proceedings are daunting and I am keen to make the process as straightforward for clients as it can be.
Prior to joining the firm I worked in the Family department at another local firm, assisting the Head of Department and other fee earners with Public Law Children matters.
I graduated from Nottingham Trent University with an LLB Honours degree in Law in 2016 and I am currently studying the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Birmingham.
