Spinal Cord Injuries Awareness Day 2023

Last Friday was Spinal Cord Injuries Awareness Day 2023. Brethertons Solicitors were proud to raise awareness of all spinal cord injuries related matters on that and every other day. It is important and it matters.

We help people regain independence and financial security after spinal cord injury. Our day job is to use our skills, our experience and our expertise as specialist litigation solicitors to help people recover compensation after spinal cord injury. But we are passionate about helping anyone we might be able to help in the spinal cord injured community and whether they have need of our litigation services or not.

There is so much unmet need in the spinal cord injured community – and it seems no amount of help will ever be enough to meet all the needs of people who live with spinal cord injury or who help those who do.

We are proud to be longstanding supporters of a number of charities working to help spinal cord injured people. We have sponsored, corporate partnered and fund raised for the Spinal Injuries Association for many years. We have also helped establish newer, smaller charities like Peer Advice Services UK, and even a community interest company (Rhodes Peer Advice Services) set up specifically to help – free of charge - anyone in the spinal injured community who needs the help it can provide.

We are proud to be associated with Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research a smaller charity looking at how to tackle often smaller discrete issues that can make a huge difference to the day to day experience of people who have suffered spinal cord injury.

The ability to move quickly and effectively and to be really impactful in a meaningful way resonates and is important to us when we look at how we can contribute something to the spinal cord injured community beyond what we do as litigation specialists helping people who need to make compensation claims.

Corporate sponsorships and charitable donations can be a complex area. We are increasingly more interested in being sure about the difference our support will have be it financial or non-financial. That is why we are always keen to explore being involved in innovative projects and pilot schemes that are solutions to problems encountered by people who are experiencing those problems at the sharp end. The blind spots, the overlooked unmet needs – are absolutely what we look to try and make a real difference with and quickly.

We are always keen to talk with other members of the spinal cord injured community and to see whether we might help make things better than they are. If you or someone you know is part of the spinal cord injured community – patient, relative, clinician or with any other interest in helping the wider spinal cord injured people we would be glad to connect with you. If you have an unmet need you could use some help with get in touch, we might well be able to help you. Please contact us on info@brethertons.co.uk or 01788579579
