International Women's Day 2021

International Women's Day (IWD) on 8th March 2021 celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and also continues to campaign for gender parity. In 2016, Lexis Nexis blogged about women in the legal profession stating ‘Just one in five partners in top-20 firms is a woman, and just eight hold senior management roles in the top 50 firms’*.

As stated on the International Womens Day website, ‘Balance is not a women’s issue, it’s a business issue’. At Brethertons we are proud of the steps we take to ensure opportunities are available for all of our employees, and are also open to feedback to help guide us in what more we could be doing. We are proud to be able to share the following facts about the firm which you may find particularly interesting today:

  • 75% of our workforce are women.
  • Women hold 4 out of 6 roles on our Executive Committee. Our CEO, Head of Finance & Risk and 2 of our Director of Legal Services are all women.
