Brethertons is celebrating twin successes after winning awards at both the Cherwell Business Awards and the Pride of Rugby Awards on Friday 15th May.

Shaun Jardine collects his Cherwell Business Award

The winner of the first award of the night was the firm’s Chief Executive Officer, Shaun Jardine, who received the prestigious Business Person of the Year Award at the Cherwell Business Awards. Shaun was thrilled to pick up the trophy, saying “I was delighted to receive the award on behalf of all those who work at Brethertons. When you employ great motivated people, they make their leaders look good. My success is in no small part due to them”

David Stevens, Partner at Ellacotts LLP, Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, who judged the category, commented,  “All three finalists were excellent, however we were particularly impressed with Shaun’s enthusiasm and innovative approach to business. Shaun has demonstrated his high calibre business acumen in leading the delivery of Brethertons’ strategic business plans, and played an active part in the growth and profitability of the organisation. He has ensured that all of the team at Brethertons have a true commitment to exceptional client service and is well known in the area for his efforts in raising Brethertons’ profile.”

Kate Austin collects Brethertons' Pride of Rugby Award

The second success of the night occurred at the Pride of Rugby Awards in the highly sought after category of Business of the Year. The firm was up against stiff competition in Rainsbrook Veterinary Group Ltd and Sams Transport. Brethertons’ Head of Company Commercial team, Colin Witherall, said, “This is the first time we’ve won a Pride of Rugby Award, and we’re absolutely thrilled. The finalists in our category all thoroughly deserved to be in the running but I’m proud Brethertons has been recognised as the ‘pride’ of the town.”

Craig Humphrey, Managing Director of the Coventry & Warwickshire Growth Hub, judging the award, said, “Brethertons is an established business in the town, having been part of the history and culture of Rugby for over 200 years. We were delighted to award this accolade to such a landmark organisation, which we felt demonstrated a clear commitment to Rugby and evidence of a successful business plan.”
