Brethertons Solicitors Support Refuge Charity in the Shoebox Appeal this Christmas

Recently, Brethertons’ award-winning Family team supported those in need this Christmas, by running a shoebox appeal across their offices to donate items to Refuge – a charity that supports women and children suffering from domestic violence.

'Refuge’ are a charity ‘supporting those who have experienced violence and abuse. They are experienced in dealing with lots of different issues– domestic violence, sexual violence, ‘honour’ based violence, forced marriage, FGM, human trafficking or modern slavery. Refuge run a range of specialist services to help survivors access safety and rebuild their lives. They understand each person’s circumstances and needs are different and that survivors need different services at different times. Refuge expert staff work closely, and confidentially, with every individual to develop a bespoke support plan.’

Linda Jones, Director of Legal Services for Private Client work at Brethertons said “It is vital that these individuals get the support and supplies that they need after fleeing their homes, which is why at Christmas time more than ever, Brethertons wanted to support the cause”.

Chartered Legal Executive Amanda Jacober and Paralegal Lisa Rogers have led the project by gathering essential items, toys, comforts and more to donate to Refuge to hopefully give some of the individuals seeking shelter, a better Christmas.
