We care passionately about every customer we help
Partner and Head of Family Law, Rugby
As a specialist Wills, Trusts & Probate Solicitor, I advise customers in a variety of matters, ranging from drawing up and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney to making or objecting to Deputyship applications, to drafting simple Wills to intricate Wills, and dealing with small non-taxable estates as well as large taxable estates. I’m starting to develop a niche for advising customers on trust administration.
My passion for private client law derives from the nature of the clients I am dealing with on a daily basis. Most are of a generation who have amazing life stories to tell and I enjoy listening to them. Others are going through a difficult period in life and I enjoy putting a smile on their faces with my terrible jokes.
The thing that drew me to Brethertons is that they are forward thinking, current, but most importantly, approachable. The latter is the key for me as I pride myself on being approachable in every sense of the word from explaining in straight-forward terms to clients what their Will says, to simplifying tax queries. Law, because of its ever changing nature, is complicated enough so why complicate it further?
Away from the office, I’m working my way through my ‘bucket list’! Growing up I spent quite a bit of time with relatives who were into all things Motorsport, and this rubbed off on me, so first step was experiencing a track day which I did a few years ago in a Porsche 911. I’ve also become a biking enthusiast over the past year or so. Now that I have achieved that a friend of mine mentioned that her father co-owns a flying school and I have been offered the opportunity to have a lesson so I’ve recently taken up Helicopter flying lessons.
Ironically I had a fear of bikes until I learnt how to ride (and control) one and I also have a fear of flying…so I go with the attitude of “best way to conquer that fear is to face it head on!” Who knows, Hollywood might call me up for stunt work some time in the near future!
