We care passionately about every customer we help
Partner and Head of Family Law, Rugby
I am a Senior Associate specialising in applications to the Court of Protection. Customers come to me for help and advice when their relative or friend has not appointed an Attorney who can deal with their property and financial affairs when they can no longer do so.
I can advise on, and prepare, applications to the Court of Protection for the appointment of Deputies to deal with the property and financial affairs of someone who is unable to deal with their finances,
When someone has a Deputy or an Attorney acting for them, because they are unable to deal with their finances themselves, they are known as a protected party.
I assist appointed Deputies and Attorneys who need to apply for permission to the Court of Protection as they need to get permission from the Court to act outside the scope of their appointment. The types of applications I prepare for Attorneys and Deputies include applications about the protected party’s property, approval of care payments to family members, and statutory wills.
I am an Associate Member of Solicitors for the Elderly and a member of the Chartered Legal Executives Private Client Specialist Reference Group.
My background is over 20 years in Personal Injury and Care Home Neglect and Abuse cases for two large regional firms when I then started working with colleagues in the Court of Protection Team and then decided to specialise in this area of law.
With my father having been diagnosed with dementia I know the importance of support for people living with dementia and their families. I am proud to be a Dementia Friend and a Dementia Champion and to have been the past Chair of the Northamptonshire Dementia Action Alliance.
I have a degree in Law and Economics and qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 1999.
In my spare time I enjoy gardening, reading, yoga, and relaxing with friends and family.
