Partner and Head of Family Law, Rugby
I am an Associate with Higher Rights in the Employment team based in Bicester. Having 'Higher Rights' provides me with the ability to act for clients from the onset of a matter and also represent the client at an Employment Tribunal (up to the Supreme Court).
My practice involves a wealth of expertise in both contentious and advisory elements of the law including discrimination, whistleblowing claims, restrictive covenants, breach of contract claims, settlement agreements, unfair dismissal claims and harassment claims.
While it is important for me to ensure that my individual clients are able to exit their employment with a suitable exit package and without the emotional and difficult strain via a settlement agreement, should a Tribunal or Court litigation be the right option, I do not shy away from a calculated and resolute approach.
I act for and advise organisations in issues relating to the life cycle of the business. These include contracts of employment, disciplinaries, grievances and exits. It is important that employers are seen to be acting lawfully and ethically. My approach is to provide clear legal advice which has the effect of creating outcomes for business clients which ensure that their reputations and commercial interests remain intact.
I regularly speak at seminars and events and write on the ever changing nature of employment law issues.
When free time permits, I can be found (or heard) singing and playing my piano or guitar, at the gym, trying to convince my wife to join me in copying moves from Strictly Come Dancing or, as a Christian, being involved in various outreach initiatives, preaching and volunteering projects.
