We care passionately about every customer we help
Partner and Head of Family Law, Rugby
I am professional and sympathetic towards the needs of my customers whilst, keeping their best interest at heart, offering them the legal support in the emotional and stressful time of their life.
I am a Paralegal in the Divorce and Finance team. My work entails assisting the team in court procedures by drafting applications in divorce and financial proceedings. I draft preliminary documents for divorce and financial proceedings, by liaising and working with clients to prepare and update financial disclosure. I prepare and update court and counsel bundles for hearings and conferences. I also attend hearings and conferences with counsel to take notes at the court hearing.
Previously I have worked for three years in the Conveyancing Department at another firm, and therefore I am able to carry out property searches efficiently by putting this knowledge to use. Prior to this, I have worked at the Oxford County Court for eight years both in the family and civil department. I worked as a circuit judges listing officer making sure that the matters were listed within target dates. I have also worked as a court clerk in county court. Therefore, I am familiar with all the court procedures, time frames and administrative running of the court. I have maintained a good relationship with my court colleague which assists me in my line of work to this day.
I graduated from the Oxford Brookes University with an LLB Honours degree in Law and completed my LPC at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice.
Being trilingual means that I am able to speak in English, Punjabi and Hindi this is an asset in my line of work, as I am able to assist customers who do not speak English as a first language. I translate at my local church from Punjabi and Hindi into English. Therefore I am able to think on my feet and improvise when called upon.
Outside of work I enjoy reading criminal thrillers and my favourite author is PJ Tracy. I also enjoy writing poetry in Hindi and spending time with my young family.
