Partner and Head of Family Law, Rugby
I am an Associate within the Residential Leasehold team here at Brethertons. I specialise in landlord and tenant disputes, lease extensions, breaches of lease, lease reviews, deeds of variation and document interpretation.
My career in Law started aged 17 when one of my tutors kindly commented ‘you do ask a lot of questions, don’t you’. I quickly transferred my science based A-Levels over to the study of Law and Philosophy and haven’t looked back since.
I went on to study LLB Law with International Relations at the University of Portsmouth. Whilst at University, I was awarded a place to train as one of the UK’s youngest Mediators, an opportunity which I grabbed with both hands. I continued my work as a Mediator for four years throughout my degree and after, later combining this work with part time work as a Paralegal for a regional law firm.
I completed my Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Guildford College of Law, where I obtained a Distinction. I was awarded a Training Contract at a niche practice in South West London where I was exposed to a variety of property based work, including Residential Conveyancing, Commercial Property and Leasehold Enfranchisement. I qualified as a Solicitor and was admitted to the Roll in 2013.
Four years and one relocation later, I was delighted to be invited to join the Residential Leasehold team at Brethertons as an Associate MD.
My clients tell me they appreciate my approachability and my simplification of complex legal matters. I remain approachable and professional to my colleagues, as I feel that we best serve the clients needs when we work as a team.
Outside of work you will find me enjoying the great outdoors with my family and rescue dog. Horse riding is where my heart lies, and I am delighted that my daughter has already taken a shine to furry friends!
I am currently on maternity leave, if you have any questions please contact the Residential Leasehold team.
