Partner and Head of Family Law, Rugby
I am a Solicitor in the Commercial Property team here at Brethertons starting in July 2018. Having qualified as a Solicitor in March 2011, I worked as a Legal Executive before being admitted to the Roll.
I have over 10 years experience in Commercial Property Law transactions ranging from landlord and tenant retail work to the purchasing and selling of both freehold and leasehold properties. As well as commercial conveyancing, I have also supported company commercial teams by carrying out property due diligence for lenders and asset companies. I have gained experience within a variety of law firms including several national firms.
I love nothing more than reviewing a lease and advising a landlord and/or tenant of the provisions within such a document – setting out the obligations and duties which they will be bound by. Throughout my career, I have acted for parties taking leases at retail parks, industrial sites and high street shops which have given me the ability to negotiate key terms whilst taking a practical and realistic approach to what both parties need and require from the transaction.
My daily tasks include: reviewing title documentation; reviewing legal documents including Contracts; transfer Deeds and Leases; negotiating terms and finalising documents on behalf of clients; and Liaising daily directly with clients, agents, solicitors and lenders
I pride myself with the relationship I have with my clients, many of whom have stayed with me throughout my career. I am often described by my clients as an approachable Solicitor who has a down to earth and friendly manner. Nevertheless, I maintain a professional approach and strive to achieve the best in both my profession and life.
My hobbies include spending time with my family and friends, including a new member – my dog, Teddy! I also enjoy baking cakes, gardening and playing the piano in my spare time.
