The Buzz in Family

As I write this introduction to the Brethertons Buzz  it strikes me that I’ve been at Brethertons for almost 28 Years and have been a divorce lawyer for all that time.

People often comment to me that “I must have seen some things in my time” and “do I find my work upsetting?” and I tell them that, yes, I have.  I’ve seen a lot of pain on breakdown of marriage which I do find very upsetting but more importantly I’ve seen most, if not all, of those people emerge from the traumatic life experience much stronger, more aware and more confident in themselves.  This is in fact the best part of my work and I am proud to be a part of that, not upset.

In life difficult things do happen to us, I am proud of the network of support that I have created within the team from our own Counsellor to brilliant lawyers who will leave no stone unturned to fight for our clients to achieve the best possible outcome.  Clients often look back and see how they have grown in strength and personality and are able to see that life quite often can be better, not worse as a result.  The very favourite part of my work is hearing from past clients with their good news such as re-marriage or new business ventures.
Divorce and Separation bring change, some welcome and some un-welcome but what is important is that you have the best professionals around you to support, guide and fight for you.
