Tribunal representation for Employees
There may come a point at which an issue at work cannot be resolved between you and your employer. The employment tribunal is a forum designed to allow a judge to decide your case, and it involves rules and processes.
You don’t have to be represented by a lawyer, but we’re here if you need us. Our team is made up of experienced advocates who have appeared in tribunals all over the UK and in the Court of Appeal. We’re proud of our success rate and of the practical benefits these outcomes achieve for customers.
Bringing a legal claim is daunting, but you can expect our team to set you at ease from the outset and to stand side-by-side with you throughout. We are confident that our team can help you resolve your problems, but as important to you is knowing that we will do so in a collaborative way involving you and listening to you at all stages.
In the first instance, you can expect us to discuss frankly with you the merits of your claim and to make an assessment of its value balanced against the likely costs. We can often provide an initial assessment on an agreed fee basis and if you have legal expenses insurance this can often cover our fees.
If you wish to go ahead, we will discuss strategy and expectations with you and work towards agreed objectives, whether that should be settlement or a full hearing.
But not every case makes it all the way. Early conciliation through ACAS leads to many being settled well in advance. And, even where that doesn’t happen, there may be opportunities to negotiate with your employer as things progress.
Case preparation is a vital part of this. The stronger your case is presented from the outset, the more likely you are to settle it without having to go through a tribunal hearing. So from the moment you instruct us, we have in mind the legal tests and the evidence that would be needed to win your case. And that is why our involvement throughout, in building your case and in formulating a strategy, could be vital.
