Rugby Art Gallery and Museum

Rugby Art Gallery and Museum is the cultural hub for Rugby Borough providing unique arts and heritage experiences for all our visitors.

First opened in 2000 the art gallery and museum is a free admission venue hosting a variety of exhibitions, events and activities for all sections of the community. The art gallery has a changing programme of contemporary and modern art, including yearly exhibitions of Rugby Borough’s significant art collection ‘The Rugby Collection’. The museum documents the local Roman settlement of Tripontium and presents displays of objects relating to the history of Rugby Borough. They also run an extensive education and events programme which includes summer and half term activities and involvement with national events such as Night at the Museum and The Big Draw.

At our October meeting we were treated to a tour of Rugby Art Gallery and Museum's Rugby World Cup exhibition, featuring art inspired by the game, as well as some fascinating artefacts from the history of the sport.
We also heard a talk from staff regarding the upcoming exhibitions and activities planned for Rugby Art Gallery and Museum in 2016 and beyond
