We care passionately about every customer we help
Partner and Head of Family Law, Rugby
I am a Solicitor in the conveyancing team. I qualified as a Solicitor in 1982 and worked as a property lawyer in a small London practice and in a major bank before joining Brethertons in 1996.
We value our customers and strive to understand and meet their individual needs. Although I do not run many cases myself these days, I get involved in resolving some of the trickier legal issues. In particular, I have helped a number of people affected by HS2 to achieve compensation under the Exceptional Hardship scheme. I’ve also presented numerous seminars on residential property law and practice, leases and HS2.
In addition to my property law work, I’m part of the project team that is managing the replacement of our existing practice management system with a new state-of-the-art customer-centric platform that will help us improve the way we work.
I built our sophisticated case management workflows for conveyancing, and continue to develop them. The system focuses on risk management, tasks are triggered by diary dates, and emails, letters and documents are adapted and merged to meet the needs of each case, while coping with volume. This means our team of conveyancing professionals can concentrate on driving the case forward, communicating with customers and third parties to get results. We believe in providing an excellent level of service.
I’m really proud of helping the firm to achieve the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Service (CQS) accreditation, a rigorous test of our customer service and conveyancing expertise. As a result of this accreditation, Brethertons has been listed on the solicitor referral panel for all main mortgage lenders. We are also active members of Bold Legal Group and Conveyancing Association.
Outside work I spend much of my time playing tennis (badly), walking and gardening. I have supported Watford FC through thin and thin.
