Vive la France!

From the moment I saw the Twin Towns event, I knew it was something that I had to get involved in.

I have always been a huge car fanatic, particularly classics, and grew up with Top Gear. How could a car enthusiast turn down the opportunity to drive round the legendary Silverstone track and the French circuit at Abbeville, while supporting a very worthwhile charity - Special Effect?

Fingers crossed that:
a. There won't be any Top Gear-esque disasters
b. The car, which was purchased for £0.99, will survive the trip substantially intact. Though this may be pushing things, based on the rumours I've heard about some of my team mates’ driving!
c.  The French won't chase us out of the country....has anyone checked the car number plate to make sure there is no reference to Waterloo, Agincourt or Crecy?!

Seriously though, the event will be a great opportunity to get to know some of my colleagues better, support a worthwhile charity and make new friends with other participants and our hosts. It will be great to get to know members of the local business community on a more informal basis.  Although our aim is still to ‘win’ the challenges and bring home the silverware for Brethertons!

We can't lose sight of the fact that the principal aim of Twin Towns is to support Special Effect. If you or a friend would like to make a donation to the charity, then please go to the team's webpage. All donations - however small - are gratefully received and will make a huge impact on the charity's work.
