They think it's all over... well, think again!

With the demise of England’s Rugby World Cup campaign, you could be forgiven for thinking the sparkle has gone from the tournament we were once feverishly anticipating. To be sure, it’s disappointing that the hosts are no longer in contention for the trophy, but there’s comfort in knowing the remaining home nations sides are all through to the quarter-finals to stoke the fires of national pride.

The group stages have delivered thrills and spills aplenty and we’ve loved (nearly) every minute! Japan’s performance against South Africa will live long in rugby folklore, Georgia have proved themselves as a force to be reckoned with and Wales are now ranked third in the world after their cracking performances against tough competition.

At Brethertons, we’re still excited about the prospect of some thrilling knock out games – it’s about to get interesting! We’re also getting excited about our World Cup breakfast event. Celebrating everything good about the game, the special breakfast will look forward to the semi-finals and give guests an insight into the inner workings of preparing for the game on an epic scale. We’ll hear from ex-England legend David Duckham and current England under-21 Tom Stephenson who will share their stories and experiences of rugby through the ages. They’ll also be available to answer your questions in an exclusive Q&A, so come ready to quiz them on all things rugby!

Our charity of the year, SpecialEffect – a charity based near Witney in Oxfordshire that helps people with physical disabilities to play video games – will join us at the event, and will be running a prize draw for a rugby-related prize. They will also have their gaming equipment set up to encourage some friendly competition!
