Oxfordshire business talent discovered in some unusual places

The three finalists for our sponsored West Oxfordshire Business Awards 2016 Business Person of the Year have been announced, showcasing business talent in some unexpected places.

Alexander Edwards, MD of The Cotswold Tailor; Darren Aston, MD at Aston & James Office Supplies; and Shaun Foggett, Director of Crocodiles of the World, have all been shortlisted from a raft of strong submissions. Their success is to be celebrated at a gala dinner in March where the winner will be announced.

“We were thrilled with the calibre of entries” explains Ken Norman, our Associate and Key Client Manager, “The diverse nature of the organisations in which these finalists work, demonstrate that excellence in business can grow anywhere. Their commonalities are good leadership and passion for their brands. We congratulate all entrants many of whom also displayed these qualities, however the case for these three finalists was particularly compelling.”

The West Oxfordshire Business Awards (fondly known as The WOBAs) celebrates the best of business in the region with The Business Person of the Year being awarded to people who have brought significant benefits to their organisations. The winner is automatically shortlisted for the corresponding award at the prestigious county-wide Oxfordshire Business Awards later this summer.

Judging the award were Karina Ray and Colin Witherall, the Oxfordshire and Warwickshire solicitors’ firm, and Jane Phipps from Abingdon & Witney College. They were looking for examples of successfully implemented strategic business plans which have brought growth and improved profitability to the organisation, as well as those who have taken active steps in exceeding client expectations and raising the organisation’s profile.

WOBA winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner on Friday 18 March.
