As part of their vision to become the ‘legal firm of the future’, Brethertons is delighted to announce four new partners within the firm.
Interestingly, three of the partners are non-lawyers – an innovation allowed under the firm’s new Alternative Business Structure. This status also benefits clients by permitting the firm to offer a wider range of services than ordinary law firms.
Instrumental in this new path is Sally Jones, Deputy CEO, Chief Operating Officer and now Partner. In just one year, Sally’s vision for a modern, fit-for-purpose law firm has delivered efficient and effective operations, built commercial growth and driven sustainable business development initiatives. She adds “I am passionate about using innovation and creativity to think across sectors, job titles and operational boundaries, bringing people together to generate ideas and solutions. I am a true believer that organisational values and a positive culture drive the people that drive a client-obsessed business like Brethertons and am very pleased to accept the firm’s offer of Partnership.”
Also joining the firm’s Partnership is experienced Key Client Manager, Mark North. Mark’s primary focus is the property industry with a specialism in the leasehold sector. He has been with the firm since 2005 and in News on the Block magazine’s Hot 100 listing of Most Influential People in the Residential Leasehold Property Sector, for two years in a row. Explaining his role at Brethertons, Mark says “I work with the lawyers to ensure our clients in all areas of the business are supported. This role is critical in achieving the firm’s high expectations of excellence in client care and I am delighted to have had this rewarded through my appointment to Partner.”
Joining Sally and Mark as Partner is award-winning property Solicitor, Roger Hardwick. As well as winning Regional Professional of the Year at the Enfranchisement & Right to Manage Awards 2016, Roger is recognised as a ‘Leader in the Field’ in the Chambers and Partners Guide to the UK Legal Profession 2016. He has extensive knowledge of lease extensions and collective enfranchisement claims, as well as the Landlord and Tenant Acts 1985 and 1987. He is also often involved in proceedings in the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) and Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber), with cases concerning service charge disputes, vary leases and appoint a manager. “It’s a great privilege to become a Partner at Brethertons and I am looking forward to building on our success with the help of my fantastic – and busy! – team,” he comments.
The firm has also appointed Business Change Manager, Craig Webb, to the Partnership. Craig started his career at Brethertons in the Property Management Department where he first developed an interest in analysing legal processes and improving their effectiveness. He has since worked to achieve business process re-engineering in practice areas across the firm. Craig is responsible for a number of key programmes of work and says, “The work of the Business Change Team seeks to continually improve the way we do business here at Brethertons. I am thrilled that as Partner I have a stake in the firm’s future – a future that I am helping to shape.”
Brethertons' new business structure and senior appointments are effective immediately.
