It's a ten from me

An annual dance competition, “Strictly Banbury”, has raised over £10,000 for two worthwhile charities. The annual event organised by Glenda Harper of Step-by-Step Dance School encourages “local heroes” to dance for charity. For seven weeks in the spring 18 local heroes and their dance partners learnt and rehearsed a jive, an American Smooth waltz and a freestyle dance. All that hard work culminated in a competition at The Mill Arts Centre on 2 and 3 May.

A total of £10,108 was split equally between the Royal National Institute of Blind People and Frank Wise School’s Griffiths Centre project. Brian Auld, partner, was part of the presentation ceremony recently. Brethertons were one of the event’s sponsors and Ken Norman, a Key Client Manager was one of this year’s dancers.

Cheque PresentationBrian said, “I danced last year, Ken danced this year and our colleague Steven Neasham our managing partner in Bicester took part in Strictly Bicester 2015. It’s a fantastic event, great fun and a great way to raise funds for worthwhile local causes.”

Helen Duggan from RNIB and Sean O'Sullivan and Gill Head from Frank Wise School are seen here accepting a cheque from Brian Auld.
