Despite its moniker, “Quiet Enjoyment” does not mean noise-free enjoyment, but enjoyment without interruption of possession. It is a Covenant of practical importance - it protects tenants from interference, which is a fundamental right. It can provide a tenant with a cause of action in a variety of situations, from harassment by a landlord, to a landlord’s failure to keep the property in repair.
This webinar will discuss the practicalities of "Quiet Enjoyment" and what it means for you, the property manager.

As every property manager will know service charge accounts can take up huge amounts of their time when seeking to explain and justify the contents to lessees.
The changes in the accounting requirements over recent years will allow certain Residential Management Companies to produce statutory accounts in a less complicated format with far fewer financial information disclosures potentially resulting in both accountancy and taxation compliance cost savings.
In this webinar, Nick Bullen a Chartered Accountant and Partner with Whitley Stimpson LLP, will explain how the changes are likely to affect RMCs and Property Managers. Nick will also highlight the ways that service charge accounting is likely to be affected and also identify some of the common problems/mistakes which appear in the statutory accounts of Residential Management Companies.

Terms and Conditions in a Nutshell
Speakers: Brian Auld and Kate Ollis
Date: 8th March 2012
Cost: Free
In these increasingly difficult times for businesses it is becoming vital to ensure that your terms and conditions of trading protect you as best they can. You may want to try and limit your liability. You may want to make it difficult for your customers to terminate contracts with you.
All business should have terms and conditions, as failure to do so could mean that it is left to the Court to decide on what terms businesses have entered into contracts. Who in their right mind would want a Judge deciding the terms on which you should do business when you have control over that decision yourself?
This Webinar will include:
-
Why have T & Cs
-
The principal clauses to use
-
The clauses to avoid
-
How to use T&C’s to your advantage
-

International Trade
Speakers: Shaun Jardine and Jitendra Patel
Date: 28th March 2012
Cost: Free
International trade presents opportunities for all types of businesses both in the UK and overseas. Many businesses are exploring how to supply goods and services into foreign markets, whilst an increasing number of overseas businesses have in recent years set up in the UK or looked to trade with local partners. Some companies are experienced in exporting and importing goods and services, whilst small and growing companies are looking to take their first steps to expanding into overseas markets.
Trading internationally provides more opportunities for growth, development and success than remaining as a solely domestic player but there is also a downside in not taking timely professional advice. In conjunction with Lloyds Banking Group, Brethertons are running a webinar to provide an overview on risk management.
This webinar will also provide an overview on how businesses can work with professional advisers in structuring their expansion into overseas markets, and give useful practical tips on how opportunities can be managed and exploited, whilst at the same time avoiding legal and financial pitfalls.
