‘Wills in the Workplace’ – Creating Staff Wills At Work

Brethertons provides a unique service for local companies called ‘Wills in the Workplace’.

We all know how prudent it is for people to make a Will, but so often it is something that is forgotten or put-off.  By considering our ‘Wills in the Workplace’ initiative, you can take a caring interest in your staff by helping them to create their Will or Lasting Power of Attorney whilst at work.

‘Wills in the Workplace’ is 100% free to you, the employer. This is how it works:

  • We fix a date when our team visit your premises
  • Your staff are invited to attend a short presentation by our team about the importance of making a Will
  • The team will then be available to answer questions as a group or to engage with individuals regarding their personal concerns
  • Your staff will be encouraged to take advantage of the corporate discounts made available exclusively to your employees

In addition, Brethertons is the only law firm in the UK to have LawSense (www.lawsense.co.uk) which is an online law service through which your staff can make their own high quality value-for-money documents if they prefer this route to the traditional process.

Wills created using LawSense can cost as little as £75.

After the presentation, which can take place within a lunch hour, we are happy to run back-to-back appointments for your staff to take instructions and discuss their personal circumstances with them on the day.

There are a host of benefits to the employer and the employee:

For employers:

  • As an employer, you are making staff aware about the importance of personal life planning, health, mitigating tax liabilities and wellbeing
  • Your organisation can offer a tangible employee benefit through the discounts we can offer
  • We work closely with your HR department as part of your overall staff benefits package
  • We help promote the day with posters for your employees to see on notice boards and provide text to incorporate into your staff newsletters and emails.

For employees:

  • Enhanced benefits of working for your business
  • They receive high quality legal services without having to leave the office
  • Discounted legal fees
  • We also provide discounts for employees of ‘Wills in the Workplace’ clients on our other service areas, such as Conveyancing and Family law services.

‘Wills in the Workplace’ has a lot to offer employees and employers from the most junior to the most senior in your team.
