Sharon Eyre, Solicitor

Sharon has a wide range of experience within the Wills, Trust and Probate Department, including drafting wills, administering testate and intestate estates, taxable and non-taxable estates. This means she is very well placed to lead Brethertons’ Contentious Probate offering.

She also has considerable knowledge on the completion of Powers of Attorney, and all the challenges that the legislation changes in this area have brought about.

Although very much a core part of the team, Sharon’s particular area of expertise is Contentious Probate and Will Disputes.  Her aim is to sensitively assist clients through this complex and specialist area and is happy to take the time and care to fully understand each new situation a client finds themselves in, and to explain the strict criteria and procedures which need to be followed to bring or defend a claim against an estate under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and dependants) Act 1975.

Contentious Probate can be burdened with high emotion, fear and hurt.  Sharon prides herself on providing essential support and guidance alongside her delivery of sensitive and practical advice during this difficult period.  Her main priority is to ensure that each dispute is resolved as amicably and painlessly as is possible.

Sharon has successfully completed the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners exams becoming a full member of STEP in 2009 which duly recognises her technical expertise for this niche area of legal services.

In 2011 she became an Associate member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and is one of a very small handful of practitioners with these high level dual qualifications.
