Nadiya Virani-Bland, Head of Department

As a solicitor and Head of the Department, Nadiya is responsible for ensuring that both she and her team provide an excellent level of service to all clients.  Nadiya has a wide range of experience and provides clients with practical advice on the issues affecting them. 

Nadiya has experience in advising on the administration of estates ensuring that at the most difficult of times, families can rest assured that their matters are dealt with both compassionately and accurately. She also draws up Wills, providing advice on Inheritance Tax and Care Home Fees protection as well as assisting clients with drafting trusts. Jeffery Glenn, Partner

Jeffery is a partner based in our Glebe House office in Rugby, and he is responsible for providing private client legal advice. He specialises in Wills and probate work, but also property law. Jeffery was formerly Managing Partner with Hodsons solicitors in Rugby until the firm merged with Brethertons LLP in Dec 2010. Jeffery is a well known and respected lawyer in Rugby and has many years of experience to help clients with their private client legal needs.

Wills Trusts Probate Law Sharon Eyre 

Sharon Eyre, Solicitor

Sharon has a wide range of experience within the Wills, Trust and Probate Department, including drafting wills, administering testate and intestate estates, taxable and non-taxable estates. This means she is very well placed to lead Brethertons’ Contentious Probate offering. 

She also has considerable knowledge on the completion of Powers of Attorney, and all the challenges that the legislation changes in this area have brought about.

Although very much a core part of the team, Sharon’s particular area of expertise is Contentious Probate and Will Disputes.  Her aim is to sensitively assist clients through this complex and specialist area and is happy to take the time and care to fully understand each new situation a client finds themselves in, and to explain the strict criteria and procedures which need to be followed to bring or defend a claim against an estate under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and dependants) Act 1975.

Sophie Wales, Solicitor

Sophie advises on many aspects of private legal work including estate administration, trust creation, Will drafting and elderly client work.  In addition, Sophie specialises in the preparation of Wills for individuals with children/grandchildren with learning disabilities. Anji Arkell, Probate Manager

Anji acts for a wide range of people from all age groups with varying financial backgrounds.  She specialises in dealing with and advising on all matters relating to the administration of estates, whether there is a Will or not, to include complex and insolvent estates.

Wills Trust Probate Solicitor - Rahul Kotecha

Rahul Kotecha

Rahul is a Solicitor within Brethertons and advises on many aspects of Private Client work including; Will drafting, estate administration, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection work and Protective Trusts. In addition Rahul can advise clients on a specialist area of Wills that deal with Shariah compliance. Shariah compliant Wills, also known as Islamic Wills, are drafted in line with the Quran.

A particular interest of Rahul’s is assisting clients, and their families, who cannot look after their own affairs due to lack of mental capacity. This is involves advising on applications to the Office of the Public Guardian and Court of Protection for Deputyship and other financial orders.

Rahul enjoys the variety of work that Private Client Law offers and the challenges the work can bring. In times of distress, upset and anxiety, where often emotions are running high, Rahul’s patient and sensitive approach assists clients through the overwhelming position of form filling and processes that can, for a lot of people, be a burden.
