Simon is our specialist for International Child Abduction law. He is one of only a handful of qualified lawyers in the UK who is a member of the International Hague Convention panel and this means he is highly experienced in child abduction law and is qualified to take on this type of work. Simon is one of the few recommended solicitors endorsed by Reunite and ICACU.
Simon is extremely familiar with abduction cases that take place right across the World and has particular experience of cases from Australia, the Middle East, Asia and the Far East including Pakistan and India, Europe including Eastern Europe and Russian Federation countries, South America and North America. He is familiar with applying the Hague Convention, Revised Brussels II Regulation and the European Convention. He has recently advised clients on abductions to Poland, Pakistan and India. He has dealt extensively with applications in the High Court in London for the last ten years; with 5 cases in the Court of Appeal since January 2006. In addition, in 2010, he concluded an Irish abduction case which was referred to the European Courts of Justice. He also specialises in International Wardship cases.

Career
Educated at Liverpool University and Chester Law College. Qualifying in 1990, before joining Brethertons Simon headed-up a family law department at Shoosmiths for 6 years. In April 2000 he joined Brethertons and became a Partner the same year.
Publications
September 2009 Simon spoke at an International Child Law Conference in Prato, Italy and in May 2010 was invited to speak at an event organised by the Law Society at the inaugural British and Spanish Lawyers conference in Malaga where he addressed an audience of approximately 150-200 people.
This year Simon Craddock held an International training webinar (online seminar) in conjunction with Teertha Gupta, a barrister from 4 Paper Buildings and REUNITE. The subject was International Child Abduction the Hague Convention 1980 in Practice. The webinar was attended by family solicitors from South Africa, America, Spain and Egypt.
