Brethertons Offer Ground Breaking Divorce Package

You associate a divorce lawyer with the legal side of divorce – but have you ever considered going to your lawyer for a free life coaching session, or advice on how to relate to your children post separation?

In January 2010, Brethertons Solicitors in Rugby will be launching their fixed fee divorce package, which is designed to help families through the whole process of divorce not just the legal side.

According to Gingerbread a single parent’s charity group, 24% of all children in the UK live in a single parent family and a third of mothers or fathers have no contact with their children following separation from the other parent.

Linda Jones, Family Partner at regional law firm Brethertons explains: “With one in three marriages ending in divorce and as a result 3.1 million children living in single parent families we have launched this unique opportunity to tie up the legal side of divorce - at a fixed cost, with the added benefit of addressing the emotional aspect of the divorce process, for both the parent and the child.”

The fixed fee divorce package costs only £500 + VAT + Court Fees.  Within that price the following legal services are provided:

  •  A lawyer will handle your case from initial instructions through to Decree Absolute.  Brethertons do reserve the right to increase costs according to any extra work incurred and the fixed fee does not include any associated work such as ancillary relief or children’s work
  • Within the fixed fee Brethertons are offering a free basic Will, to ensure that the change in your circumstances are accurately reflected and updated.

As well as legal services, the regional law firm are also offering the following emotional support:

A free session with a Life Coach, which is a good opportunity to take stock of your situation and work towards the best way forward for you

A monthly workshop called ‘Divorce through the eyes of the child’, which is designed to help you to help your children through separation or divorce.  The session will include lots of tips on how to help your children but also how to help you manage the relationship with your former partner when continuing to be parents together.  In addition to receiving information on the day, you will also be given lots of literature to take away with you to read at your leisure.

The first workshop is due to take place on 17th February 2010 1 pm – 2 pm.  The session will take place at our offices at 16 Church Street and will be free of charge.  Places are limited and allocated on a first come, first serve basis.  If we are unable to offer you a place at the session in February we will be able to offer you a place on future sessions.
