Kate Austin, Legal Executive (FILEX)

Kate Austin handles Conveyancing in the Rugby office of Brethertons

Kate, who joined Brethertons in 2002, is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and is a key component in Brethertons’ provision of Agricultural and Rural business advice.

Kate has 20 years of property law experience and advises on agricultural and residential property transactions including sales, purchases, remortgages and deeds of easements.

Kate also has experience in dealing with a wide variety of applications to the Land Registry including adverse possession claims, complex voluntary registration applications, rectification of title registers and plans and definition of boundaries.

Kate's clients include farmers acquiring land to expand their family farm, clients adding to their agricultural holding portfolio and clients acquiring properties with ancillary equestrian facilities. Kate is a member of the Agricultural Law Association.

Kate was pleased to be asked to help spearhead the development of the Agricultural and Rural Business Team and well positioned to do so given that her experience in property is seamlessly coupled with her long standing love of the countryside and, in particular, equestrian pursuits.  It is these two elements in unison, which equip her in providing tailored guidance, premised upon relevant experience, to clients of the Agricultural Team.  And this has never been more relevant where advice is increasingly required at the nexus of property, land and rural issues.   Kate’s propensity for seeking practical legal solutions for the agricultural community has led to a greater involvement in matters surrounding adverse possession and voluntary first registration of land.
