Shaun Jardine, Partner

Shaun is the Head of the Commercial Litigation and Commercial Recoveries Departments based at the Banbury office.

As a Solicitor, Shaun acts mainly for commercial clients involved in disputes ranging from property related matters to Directors Disqualification proceedings.

In his role as  a Commercial Mediator Shaun is called in by other Solicitors and other professionals to try and assist their clients to reach a commercial solution and avoid going court.

The Legal 500 describes Shaun as "user-friendly, responsive and efficient‘.

Jackie Ray, Head of Commercial Recoveries

Jackie acts for a number of interesting international and national Blue Chip clients including Hi-Tech Plcs, Credit Unions, Suppliers of Mobility Aids, Vintners, Universities, Aggregates and major financial institutions.

Carmel Magee, Commercial Collections Executive

Carmel works for major Plcs in the recovery of their outstanding invoices. Carmel's clients include both national and international entities and she deals with recoveries worldwide through a network of business associates.

Carmel also specialises in the recovery of sensitive matters e.g. services rendered to the elderly and the non-payment of funeral/memorial services. Kirsty Hughes, Commercial Collections Executive

Kirsty acts for a number of large multi-nationals in the recovery of monies recoverable under leases and under hire purchase agreements. She also acts for finance and IT companies and deals with all manners of uncontested recoveries, enforcement and insolvency. Nicky Beveridge, Commercial Collections Executive

Nicky works for major Plcs dealing with the recovery of their outstanding invoices. The type of work that she does includes both national and international entities and she has experience working for credit insurance companies and service support clients.

Gary Braathen, Litigation Executive

Gary acts on behalf of major Plcs dealing with their disputed recovery cases. Gary often deals with matters concerning fine wines and spirits as they can have an interesting outcome!

Paul Lydon, Litigation Executive

Paul acts on behalf of major PLCs and deals with high value and complex contested matters. In particular Paul has expertise with claims resulting from promotional activities such as exhibition stands, advertising and marketing.

Hemesh Chohan, Paralegal

Hemesh joined Brethertons in 2008 and completed his training contract in 2010. He works within the commercial recoveries department assisting with disputed recovery cases.

During the evenings, and early mornings, Hemesh changes his role to Head Coach of Rugby Swimming Club.  He has been teaching and coaching swimmers for nearly 12 years.  To Hemesh's credit, the Club as achieved International and British titles, National and County times, and lately one of his younger swimmers has been selected for the England Talent Squad.

Amanda Jacober, Trainee Legal Executive

Amanda acts mainly for a major UK bank dealing with mortgage shortfall recoveries. She is expanding her knowledge and experience to deal with commercial recoveries in addition to her consumer expertise.

Sarah Pass, Trainee Legal Executive

Sarah deals with the Commercial Recoveries Department administration but also acts for clients and assists with their work. In particular, Sarah attends uncontested Court hearings.

Sharan Sandhu - Debt Recovery Assistant

Sharan joined the department following successful completion of her Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the College of Law in Birmingham.  Sharan is currently studying part-time for her Masters Degree (LLM) in International, Economic Law at Warwick University.  Sharan deals with the Return of Goods actions on behalf of a major household name and assists with the departments defended actions.

Edward Bible, Solicitor and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner

Edward Bible heads up Brethertons Insolvency team. He is both a solicitor and licensed insolvency practitioner.  He has a wide knowledge of all areas of insolvency.  Edward advises insolvency practitioners, banks and other clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters.  Edward has been rated in Chambers & Partners’ guide to the legal profession as “bright and practical”.
